Resources for Families of Students with Disabilities

Tools For Meeting Life’s Challenges is pleased to present two free webinars specifically for individuals with a disability and their families during the COVID-19 epidemic. One webinar will focus on the critical medical, nursing and advocacy issues, and the other on educational and legal issues.

Target Audience: These seminars are intended for families and caregivers of children and adults with catastrophic physical disabilities as well as for Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Doctors, Nurses, Clinicians, Case Managers, Rehab Counselors, Educators, Social Workers and other medical providers. Monica Kondrad will talk about accessing healthcare and home health/nursing services. Joe Scullin will talk about advocacy activity and strategies in accessing benefits and services.

Webinar: CRITICAL EDUCATIONAL AND LEGAL ISSUES IN THE TIME OF COVID-19.

Richard Weishaupt will talk on government cash benefits, including SSI, SSDI, General Assistance, and SNAP. He will also talk about Medicaid and Medicare. Leah Batchis will talk about advocacy and issues In the educational program process.

The NJ Counseling and Mortgage Finance Agency is working with community partners to provide counseling services for homeowners and renters during the current pandemic. There is no charge for this service.
