Spring Changemaker Spotlight: Meet Jade Latham

We are pleased to spotlight Jade Latham, executive admin of The O League, as our Changemaker for Spring 2025. Jade’s hard work, determination, and high level of professionalism have helped The O League develop and grow in several vitally important ways.

Jade, 29, hails from Burlington Township and attended Burlington Township High School, where she played on the field hockey team. After graduation, she entered Rowan College at Burlington County (RCBC), where she earned an associate’s degree in business administration. After RCBC, she continued her studies at Rutgers University and earned a bachelor’s degree in business management.

She started working with The O League in 2016, in an on-and-off way, about a year and a half into her college studies. She helped in the office with administrative duties, at first, but found there were more areas where she could help.

After she graduated from Rutgers, she worked for two years as a fellowship coordinator for radiology at the University of Pennsylvania, and then as a project associate at different clinical research organizations and pharmaceutical companies.

When The O League set up a produce stand at the Burlington City Farmers Market on the RIverfront (sponsored by Main Street Burlington) in 2019, Jade was there to help. Seeing it was a success, Seigha Omuso, The O League’s founder, started plans to build a farmer’s market at Villages Community Marketplace on Federal St. in Burlington, which is set to open in August. Jade has been heavily involved with getting Villages Community Marketplace off the ground.

Jade will manage all of the SNAP information for Villages Community Marketplace. She became SNAP certified last year to take both SNAP and WIC benefits.

“Now we can take SNAP and WIC for the farmer’s markets at Villages Community Marketplace and Main Street Burlington,” she added.

Her main role, however, is the bookkeeping.

“In the executive admin role, I am responsible for overseeing many of the programs and initiatives we run,” Jade said.

A hard worker, she currently has two other jobs in addition to The O League. She performs data entry at the Pinelands Preservation Alliance (PPA) in Southampton, and she is a food runner at Eddie V’s in Cherry Hill.

While Jade helped with the early development of The O League’s STEAM program, and she likes that program a lot, the College Prep program is her favorite.

“I have a personal connection with it,” she said. “I remember going on college tours when I was in high school. It was nice to be exposed to campuses. It helped prepare me for the challenges of college.”

Jade would like to see The O League expand its real estate presence

“I would like to see our headquarters be only a headquarters,” she said. “We’re also looking forward to VIllages Community Marketplace being a success.”
