BURLINGTON, NJ – The West Jersey Rebels 13 & under (13u) Baseball Team has thrived during their Spring 2022 Campaign thus far! As of June 1, 2022, the West Jersey Rebels Baseball Team has compiled 20 Wins with 1 Loss, and earned Tournament Championships at Legends Baseball Tournaments in Sewell, NJ, and our own West Jersey Showdown. Most recently, our Rebels received our first loss in the Championship Game at the USABL Memorial Day Tournament in Toms River, NJ.

During this season, the Rebels have defeated 3 of the Top 10 Ranked New Jersey Travel Baseball Teams in the 13u Division according to Travel Baseball Rankings.com. This includes the #3 Ranked Team in New Jersey. We are hoping at some point our small program will be recognized and receive a State Ranking.

This team is not based on compiling wins or championships, but is driven to mold responsible young men and to provide an environment for success. While focusing on these principals, the first paragraph becomes reality for many of these kids who would not have the opportunity to play high level baseball absent the West Jersey Rebels Program and O-League. The majority of players are from Burlington County Riverfront Communities to include Burlington City, Burlington Township, Riverside, and Cinnaminson. Other Burlington County communities represented include Shamong and Moorestown Twp.

On May 17, 2022, the West Jersey Rebels played the 14u Trenton Thunder Academy in honor a Jason Parsons, a father from local Burlington Township who died in his sleep, leaving three sons who play baseball and have a close connection to several members of our Rebels Family. The night raised money for the Parsons Family. After a fun game, our Rebels won 20-11, but most importantly, over $1,000 was raised to support the Parsons Family. Later this month, the Rebels were invited to participate in a tournament in Virginia Beach, Va. We were discovered by a team while participating in a Cal Ripken Experience Tournament in Aberdeen, Maryland, and after winning that Championship, were invited to this tournament with our team being the premier visitor for their event.

Finally, our West Jersey Rebels hosted our 2 nd Annual West Jersey Showdown! With 28 Teams registered, we hosted teams from New Jersey, Delaware, and Southeastern Pennsylvania. Part of the proceeds benefit the Opportunity League and we are proud to be part of the O-League Family! While weather posed a great challenge to us this year, the tournament was an overall success.
